Thank you for taking time to read about Citizens for Second Chances. If you feel so inclined, please consider donating to our organization. We ARE NOT a non-profit organization. Non-profit status would require public disclosure of our member list and donors, and we determined that to be unacceptable. Many members do not want their information to be made public and we respect that wish. We promise to keep our membership list private and we will not disclose any information to anyone without the full knowledge and agreement of the membership or individual.
This group started with two mothers using their own personal monies for mailings, trips to Lansing, phone calls, etc. As the group evolved, the membership has made many generous donations. We know how very expensive it can be to try to support a family member affected by the registry, not to mention all the other costs involved, so any donation, when a member feels financially able, is greatly appreciated.
Financial support of Citizens for Second Chances makes the following services possible: · Paying for a Post Office Box to receive mail. · Website fees · Distribution and mailing of resource materials and organizational information to individuals, families, legislators, prosecutors, judges, media etc. · Phone calls to interested people concerning Citizens for Second Chances. This includes individuals, families, legislators, prosecutors, judges, media, etc. · Purchasing ink and supplies for all of the printing and mailing we do. · Trips to meet with legislators and other key people in our campaign.
